#36 The Physics of Letting Go
The harder you judge things as good or bad, the heavier you actually become. And yes, physics backs that up. In 1930, a physicist predicted light could become matter. The mystics named it 2,500 years.
In 1930, the great physicist Paul Dirac predicted something astonishing:
That light itself — energy — could turn into matter.
Just two years later, Carl Anderson proved him right. Using a cloud chamber, he witnessed a high-energy photon (a particle of light) transform into two distinct particles: an electron and a positron. Matter.
One became two.
Light — which has no charge, no polarity — split into a pair of opposites: one negative (electron), one positive (positron). And with matter, polarity was born.
Now, hang on… this gets even better…
Physicists today call this “pair production.”
But the ancient mystics had another name: The Monad and the Dyad.
More than 2500 years ago, Pythagoras taught that the Monad is the source — pure unity. But the Dyad is what gives birth to duality, to form, to the entire realm of sense perception. It introduces the contrast — and with it, the illusion of separation.
So what does this mean for you?
Everything.
You live in a world of twos: good and bad, plus and minus, success and failure, win and lose.
And here’s the trap: the more you judge one side as better than the other, the more deeply you entangle yourself in matter… and the heavier you feel.
You become “dense” — energetically and emotionally.
But the light — the photon — is never burdened by such opposites. In its own frame of reference, it doesn’t even experience time or space. It simply is.
That’s your clue.
The more you integrate the complementary opposites — positive and negative, gain and loss, pain and pleasure — the lighter you become. Not in body, but in being. In presence. In perception.
This is not just philosophy. It’s physics. And freedom.
When you see both sides of an event — when you perceive equal benefits and drawbacks for it — you are no longer trapped in it. You are free.
That, dear friend, is the real alchemy.
From One comes Two. And in seeing both as One again, you return home.
The next time you find yourself judging something as “bad,” remember: you’re only seeing half the reality. Keep looking. The other half is right there, waiting to set you free.
