#29 You Can’t Upset God
Humans keep asking, “Is God mad at me?” as if God were their moody cousin.
There’s God language, and there’s human language.
They’re not the same thing.
Human language is emotional.
We judge, we admire, we get pissed, we get happy, we get sad.
Everything is polarized (in the world of the senses).
God’s language isn’t like that.
It’s objective.
No mood swings.
No emotional reactions.
The problem starts when we project human language onto God.
We say God is angry.
God is disappointed.
God is happy with you.
God is judging you.
That’s not God.
That’s us.
We’re just projecting our own emotions onto “Something” infinitely wiser.
Here is a little example…
Can you feel betrayed by a 1-year old? Or feel upset with them?
No, of course not.
What’s the difference between you and a 1-year old? A few years.
What’s the difference between you and God? Is it more than a few years? Is it infinite, maybe?
If a 1-year old can’t upset you, how can you think you could ever upset God?

This is the line that made me reflect - If a 1-year old can’t upset you, how can you think you could ever upset God?
